Whats happening to my beloved country?

Nigeria is my country and i cant deny it. I'm proud of this great nation and i can only hope that things will get better.
The strike, the unpatriotic spirit of those who are meant to represent us, the never retiring, over aged leaders who never think they have enough, the corrupt and well respected Bank chiefs, the non existent projects in some parts of the country. Well today, i just came to tell you what i think about this country.
There's alot of talk about the wayward youths and how terrible they are. No doubt this is true but lets face it. They accuse my generation of being the ones who have spoilt the world and talk so much about the good old days. Well, i'd like to ask, are the past Military Heads of State in my generation? Was Abacha in my generation. All the stolen oil money in this country, was it stolen by anyone who is my age mate or in my generation? If my generation is really spoilt, i think it boils down to the fact that many of us were not properly brought up...is that now our responsibility? How old do you have to be to retire and let the younger generation take over. Well, in Nigeria the youth are the leaders of a non-existent tomorrow, because tomorrow never comes in Nigeria. They talk so much about rebranding. I guess they should start rebranding from the top. They start corruption from the leadership and rebranding from the masses. Who actually needs rebranding? Is it the poor and homeless children on the street whose existence has no effect on our international image or the leaders who out of corruption have tarnished the image of my beloved country. Nigeria is sick. Just like putting on clean clothes cant heal the sick, rebranding will not change the decay and corruption in the heart of some of our corrupt leaders.
Not withstanding the wave of corruption sweeping across the nation, there are still a few people who believe that a good name is better than ill gotten wealth and integrity is still a prized virtue. I want to congratulate these few people and encourage them to continue, as we all join hands to redeem my beloved country.

LONG LIVE NIGERIA, my beloved country!

What a way to do it!

Was watching the Arsenal - Man City match and i thought of this. Why would Man City just delay the goals and make Arsenal think they'll leave with some points. This match is a warning to all other clubs and especially to Rio Ferdinand who claimed that Manchester cant accomodate two Big teams. Its also a special warning to Chelsea and Tottenham...the table is going to change. Many funny and intersting things are going to happen this season...well incase you need the scores of other matches just scroll down.
Portsmouth 2 - 3 Bolton Wanderers
Blackburn   3 - 1 Wolves
Wigan        1 - 0 West Ham
Liverpool    4 -0 Burnley
Stoke City  1 - 2 Chelsea
Sunderland 4 - 1 Hull City
Man City    4 - 2 Arsenal
Any more reason to doubt the ability of The Blues? Its really surprising how they keep winning this way. Well we should also give credit to Liverpool, who have finally woken up from their slumber. Bolton have secured a very important win. Meanwhile it was Goal feast at the Stadium of light and Anfield this week. Breath taking and very competitive football entertainment at Ewood Park! The second Big game of the day kicks off later this evening. Tottenham against Manchester United. send your comments rolling in...pls dont forget to criticize this!

Whats wrong with our Men?

When they're poor they say they don't have money
When they see you they dont call you ugly
Thats when they say they want to marry
Thats all before they make money

Then they finally make money
Then they look at you and say you're ugly
They dont want you to embarrass them in Public
They say they've seen the good, but you're the bad and ugly

Its really funny who people change because of money
Just make decisions in a hurry
They find someone else to marry
Just because they got a little money

Autonomous Universities?

Really think this is the first realisitc thing that has come into Nigeria of recent. The Bank shake up and making Nigerian Universities autonomous. Well i'd like to get your comments here before we summarize by weighing the merits and demerits of this idea.

Who Clipped the wings of our Eagles?

So finally, the bubble has burst and Nigerians who thought we had a strong soccer team are waking up to the reality that we stink at football. A game that has a massive and passionate fan base in Nigeria has been left to degenerate and adorn itself with shame, falsehood, corruption and failure! The Once Super Eagles have evolved into tackle-fearing, image protecting little chickens who are now minnows in African football and almost insignificant as a team in the world! We have players and no team, so called coaches and technical directors who know so much about football that they barely know eleven players make a team. Nigerian footballers are no more patriotic and zealous. I sometimes wonder if those ahead of them played this way....definately not! If they did, we wouldn't have been among the highly sought after players in the world. With this type of unpatriotic display, we can be sure that in a few years time the best Nigerian players abroad will be in Israel and India. Having talked about how bad and terible the Suffering Chickens are, we have to now look for a way of changing them back to our beloved Super Eagles again!
